Comcast customer service shuts down as credit collection services shut down
A customer service department for Comcast has been shut down for a day due to a “technical issue.”
The Comcast customer services department, which was supposed to handle customer issues such as billing and customer service issues, was temporarily shut down on Friday afternoon after a “human error” caused the website to crash.
The outage happened just after 2:00 p.m.
ET on Friday, the company said on Twitter.
The company said in a statement that the outage was caused by “an internal issue that was identified and resolved quickly.”
The outage was not caused by a breach in the company’s network, Comcast said.
The customer service staff was able to work through the issue and the company will resume normal operations tomorrow, the statement said.
