Amazon customers may be forced to upgrade to DirecTV Now, Directv Now, Hulu, HBO Now, and Hulu Plus
ShareTweetShareWith the launch of Amazon’s new Direcbs Direc TV Now service, customers may need to upgrade their video services to DireccTV Now or use Hulu Plus, according to reports.
In a blog post, Amazon says that customers who sign up for DirecTSN or DirectsDVR service “will be required to upgrade by April 1st, 2017, to use the new DirecsDVR app.”
That’s a change from last year when customers who were on the previous DirecTsDVR or DiredTV Now service would be required by April 10th.
DirecTV customers can use both services at the same time, though it appears some customers who have recently signed up for a DirecDVR subscription may have had issues connecting to the new app.
The new service also requires DirecTv Now users to set up a DireTV Now subscription on their device.
Amazon’s blog post did not provide details on the type of content that will be available to DiredTSN customers.
Users can choose to watch content from Amazon’s own shows, movies, and TV shows.
Customers can also watch content available through third-party services like Netflix and Hulu.
The service also offers an on-demand movie library with an estimated 4,000 movies, along with access to a large selection of TV shows and movies from Amazon Prime Video, HBO, Hulu Plus and Amazon Video.
